Hello! We are Mark and Nicole Redden, and we are the proud owners of Venue 290, and of course, you have to meet Hope too. She is our beautiful and so rotten Golden Retriever. Several years ago, we had a crazy idea of opening a wedding venue. We lived and worked in Bentonville Arkansas for about 12 years or so, and both had corporate jobs, me in sales and marketing, and Nicole in banking. Well, we had enough of that life and wanted to do more. We wanted to work together every day, and help bring the dreams of loving couples true. We started this journey in 2019 when be bought this beautiful, historic building a few minutes south of Roanoke. Then the work began, we poured our hearts and souls into the renovation and making it into one of the finest venues in the area (we think so, and hope you will too). After a year, it was time to open…nope, COVID stopped that plan, so we backed up a step or two, and made a new plan. We opened at the start of 2021 as The Grand at 290, and hosted many wonderful couples and groups along the way. We decided to change our name and look early in 2023 based on feedback and lots of research. What didn’t change was how we take such good care of each and every guest that steps through our doors. We certainly hope to see you soon, so you can see and experience this magical place.
Venue 290 is located off 220, just south of Roanoke. Our venue started as a department store in 1912, and still offers the same beauty now as it did then. The grand ballroom has original hardwood floors, stunning staircase, beautiful columns that soar to the ceilings that are still covered with the original pressed tin tiles. While the historic charm has been maintained, the entire venue has been renovated and features a modern atmosphere.
We offer over 10,000 sq/ft of celebration space featuring separate ceremony and reception space, so that means your guests don’t need to be shuffled off somewhere uncomfortable while a room is flipped. They will just head down to the grand ballroom and mingle with friends and family while they await your grand entrance down the stunning staircase.
